Steam Frame (Slim/comfort) Prescription Lenses
Headset
Focused on wearing comfort and the Steam Frame's own eye tracking.
More comfort, immersion, and visual quality in VR. Improve your VR experience by replacing your annoying glasses with optical inserts with lenses in your prescription. Significantly better comfort – no more glasses being pressed into your nose by the headset; no more need for contact lenses that dry out in VR. Better image quality with ZEISS lenses, which are individually selected for your individual prescription for the specific application of VR, and inserts that keep them in the optimal position in the headset at all times without being misaligned or displaced. As a result, you’re always looking through the sweet spot of your corrective lenses, and your image remains sharp. Additionally, there is no glasses frame in your field of view. As bonus, the inserts also protect the lenses of your VR headset from scratches. A must-have accessory for glasses wearers in VR.
Field of View (FOV)
Our inserts do not reduce your field of view, whether you use the Eye Spacer or not.
Eye-Tracking / Foveated Rendering
Our RX inserts fully support the Steam Frame's own eye tracking and foveated rendering. We made a deliberate design choice to prioritize wearing comfort, avoiding a bulky profile at the bridge that can painfully poke into your nose. As a compromise, the IR illumination reaching the eye is slightly dimmed. Testing confirms that the Steam Frame's own eye tracking works just as reliably as with normal glasses.
Eye Spacer
The inserts are low-profile, so most users won't need the eye/glasses spacer. Whether you need it depends on your face shape, the length of your eyelashes, your prescription (which affects lens thickness), and how tightly you wear the headset.
